llluminated Manuscripts

I have always had a bit of a weakness for the idea of illuminated manuscripts - taking a piece of writing and turning it into an object of art. So a while back, I thought it would be fun to create a project here at the Raven that played with that.

I bought twelve stories - one based on each sign of the Zodiac in some way. The idea was to get each one illustrated in a kind of illuminated manuscript style and release them to Patrons in the relevant month. It took three artists before Jasper (@meltypeach) came along and got all twelve done for me. So it has been a bit of a journey!

Last month I released the first on Patreon, and this month it hit our store here on the website.

This is the first of twelve stories illustrated in this way. You can buy them as prints or pdfs, individually as they are released, or become a Patron to get them each month in your inbox. At the end of the cycle, I will create a folio edition box set with all twelve prints in it.

I am deeply enamoured by this project, and love that it has finally seen the light of day. The stories are wonderful; the illustrations are gorgeous.
